GrowHealthy Opens 25th Florida Location as iAnthus Strengthens Statewide Network
iAnthus Capital Holdings, Inc. has strengthened its footprint in one of the nation’s fastest-growing medical cannabis markets with the opening of its 25th GrowHealthy dispensary, this time in St. Petersburg, Florida. The expansion underscores the company’s continued focus on Florida, where patient enrollment has surpassed 900,000 and retail competition shows no signs of slowing.
The new GrowHealthy location, situated at 4831 34th Street South, officially opened its doors in early December. According to the company’s announcement, the St. Petersburg dispensary joins an established statewide network that already includes locations in Tampa, Clearwater/Largo, Palm Harbor, Fort Myers, and dozens more regions from Pensacola to Miami. For patients on the south side of St. Petersburg, the opening represents improved access to products that previously required a longer drive across Tampa Bay or further north along U.S. 19.
iAnthus describes GrowHealthy as a “flower-first” brand rooted in whole-plant wellness, and the St. Petersburg store continues that identity with a curated lineup of in-house labels such as MPX, The Vault, Sunshine State, and Black Label. These brands allow the company to focus on quality genetics, controlled cultivation standards, and consistent retail presentation while offering options across flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, vapes, and other delivery methods.
In its opening announcement, iAnthus CEO Richard Proud emphasized that each new GrowHealthy location is designed to balance a consistent statewide experience with a localized feel. He noted that the company is prioritizing patient education, reliable guidance, and a welcoming environment—elements that have become increasingly important as Florida’s medical cannabis market continues to diversify.
The dispensary’s launch also highlights iAnthus’s broader commitment to selective expansion. The company has spent the past year refining its operational model, adding new retail stores in strategic areas while gradually consolidating brand architecture across its multi-state network. In Florida, where vertical integration is required, carefully placed new outlets like St. Petersburg’s strengthen the company’s ability to distribute its product lines efficiently and consistently.
Kelly Heinichen, vice president of retail operations, stated that GrowHealthy’s mission is to “meet patients where they are,” with the St. Petersburg store embodying that goal by providing a convenient option in a dense, fast-growing community. With Tampa Bay ranking among Florida’s largest medical cannabis markets, the new dispensary enters a competitive landscape but also one with strong patient demand and favorable demographics.
The expansion arrives as Florida continues to experience sustained growth in medical cannabis participation. State health department data in 2025 indicates steady increases in registered patients, physicians authorized to recommend cannabis, and the number of operational dispensaries statewide. These trends have encouraged operators like iAnthus to invest further in Florida, even as companies wait to see whether the state will eventually move toward adult-use legalization.
With the St. Petersburg opening, GrowHealthy now operates 25 locations across Florida, giving iAnthus one of the more robust retail footprints in the state’s vertically integrated system. For patients, the new store offers expanded access to premium cannabis products; for iAnthus, it reinforces a long-term strategy centered on disciplined growth, brand consistency, and a commitment to serving Florida’s rapidly expanding medical cannabis community.
